Call for faster rail link to Stansted
An Essex MP has called on the Prime Minister to support improvements to the West Anglia rail line which serves Stansted Airport.
Sir Alan Haselhurst, the Conservative MP for Saffron Walden, asked David Cameron for a major upgrade of the line to provide faster journeys between Stansted and London.
The airport serves 18 million passengers a year and is officially London's third airport. The shortest train journey takes 46 minutes but can take nearly an hour.
