Ex-Arsenal forward Podolski confirms Japan move

Former Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has confirmed he will leave Galatasaray in the summer in order to join J-League side Vissel Kobe.

The German, who has 129 caps for his country, announced the move on social media, saying: "It's not a decision against Galatasaray, it's a decision I made for a new challenge, and I will explain more when the time is right."

Podoloski joined Galatasaray in 2015 from Arsenal and has gone on to win the Turkish Cup during his spell in Istanbul.

Vissel Kobe currently sit sixth in the Japanese top flight.
