Ex-Watford midfielder Jenkins close to MLS move

Former Watford midfielder Ross Jenkins is set to link up with Major League Soccer outfit Vancouver Whitecaps at the end of January ahead of the new season.

Jenkins, who spent last season in the Romanian top-flight, has rejected approaches from Scotland and England in order to head to Canada.

The Whitecaps are managed by former Wolves midfielder Carl Robinson and boast ex-Derby man Giles Barnes in their squad.

Former England Under-20 midfielder Jenkins has recently been training with Oldham but any permanent move was scuppered by the League One club's transfer ban.
