Prince Harry introduced to Polly the parrot as he arrives in St Vincent and the Grenadines

Prince Harry has met a lot of fans in the Caribbean - but one local was less than impressed with her royal visitor.

The Prince was introduced to Polly the parrot as he arrived in St Vincent and the Grenadines on the next step of his tour of the islands. But the parrot, who can say hello and good morning, refused to return the royal's greeting - much to his amusement.

The bird along with 25 others are kept at the Nicholas Wildlife Aviary Complex which, since 1988, has maintained a vital captive breeding and conservation program to safeguard the numbers of the bird.

Harry also paid a visit to the botanical gardens, where to mark the visit he planted a commemorative Baobab tree.

He was later taken to hear a group of schoolchildren singing and a kids' steel band.

On a visit to the hillside village of Vermont, the Prince was mobbed by residents with one local particularly pleased to see him.

Avis Collis, a farmer, stopped Harry and told him "I love you". The pair clasped hands and he pointed at the 54-year-old and replied "love you".

Afterwards Ms Collis told the press: "Here's my phone number, can you give it to the Prince.

"He told me he loved me. I can't believe it. I may be 54 but I'm single and I'm available."
