I’m A Celebrity 2016: Official line-up revealed
It doesn't seem a whole year since Vicky Pattison was crowned queen of the jungle, but I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! returns to ITV on Sunday.
Here is the confirmed line-up of brave celebs getting ready for a Bushtucker Trial.
Jordan Banjo
Age: 23
Phobias: Snakes and spiders
Famous for: Winning Britain’s Got Talent with Diversity dance group in 2009
Jordan says: “To prepare myself, I have been watching all the Bushtucker Trials on YouTube – but I have been scaring myself. If there are spiders around, there is a strong chance there will be tears!”
Wayne Bridge
Age: 36
Phobias: Everything. Rats, spiders, cockroaches, snakes, claustrophobia, sleeping in the Jungle.
Famous for: Being a former England footballer. Also married to The Saturdays pop star Frankie with whom he has two children.
Wayne says: “I am bricking myself. I am so nervous and scared of everything. Of course my friends will take the mickey and I will be getting ripped if I scream. But I want to give the Trials a go.”
Joel Dommett
Age: 31
Phobias: Everything
Famous for: His role in Channel 4’s Skins. The actor is also a comedian and won Best Newcomer Award in Stand Up Comedian of the year in 2008.
Joel says: “I am very aware of feeling like everyone is listening to what I say. So if I say that spiders are not my thing then they will put loads of spiders on my head! I think it will be good not to use my phone for a month. I use it too much and this experience will change my life in an interesting way. Hopefully I will get a few stories out of it all for my stand up!”
Ola Jordan
Age: 34
Phobias: Spiders, rats, snakes
Famous for: Being a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing for nine years until she quit in 2015.
Ola says: “I am going to embrace the experience though and of course I will be packing some bikinis, you’ve got to haven’t you? If there is anyone who wants to learn to dance in the Jungle, I will teach them. It will while away a few hours and you are exercising too. It will be fun.”
Larry Lamb
Age: 68
Phobias: None
Famous for: His roles in Gavin and Stacey and Eastenders
Larry says: “It will be interesting to eat the disgusting meat. But if you were stuck in a real life Jungle and you saw something that could be eaten, you would eat it! Nothing in the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! camp is going to kill you.”
Scarlett Moffatt
Age: 26
Phobias: Small spaces, the dark, walking across bridges, clowns
Famous for: Being a Gogglebox favourite
Scarlett says: “I am scared of so many things but the one Trial I am looking forward to is the eating one. I know I might be the only person who says this but I am really curious to see what the things taste like. If you get an Ostrich ear, I want to know what it’s like to eat it whole. What is the texture like?”
Sam Quek
Age: 28
Phobias: Cockroaches, spiders and anything small
Famous for: Being a defender on the British Gold medalwinning hockey team
Sam says: “I would be mortified knowing the whole Britishpublic are watching me and I can’t do a task that other people have achieved inthe past. My boyfriend came up to me the other day with a spider in his handand I said, ‘no get it away’ - he told me I really needed to practice but Iwill deal with it when I am in the situation.”
Lisa Snowdon
Age: 44
Phobias: Lack of food, surviving with nothing and not having any outside contact
Famous for: Modelling and presenting. She hosted Britain’s Next Top Model from 2006 to 2009 and co-presented Capital FM’s breakfast show for seven years until 2015.
Lisa says: “The Trials from previous years look hideous. But I am also curious to see what the food will be like. A Kangaroo anus is all furry and gross but curiosity has got the better of me! Nothing is going to kill me and so you have to rise to the challenge.”
Adam Thomas
Age: 28
Phobias: Spiders and cockroaches
Famous for: Being an actor on Emmerdale since 2009. He is also the brother of Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw on the soap.
Adam says: “I am scared pretty much of everything. Especially spiders, and it’s why I went to get hypnotised the other day. I have had two sessions now but I am still scared of spiders! I tend to run away from them or wake my fiancée up to get rid of them.”
Carol Vorderman
Age: 55
Phobias: None – but doesn’t like deep water
Famous for: Being a maths genius on Countdown for 26 years until 2008. Also a regular host on Loose Women since 1999.
Carol says: “I know people will ask ‘why does Carol need to do this?’ but I have never ever paid attention to what others think. I make my own decisions. I like the show and want to do it. I am not a scaredy cat – but I am not a great swimmer. I don’t want to let people down but I won’t be very good on the underwater tasks.”
I'm A Celeb will kick off on ITV on Sunday at 9pm.
