Man admits putting baby daughter for sale on eBay

A man has admitted putting his baby daughter up for sale on eBay.

The 40-day old tot was listed on the auction site last week for the price of 5,000 euro (£4,500).

Police opened an investigation into human trafficking and raided the parents' apartment in the west German city of Duisburg.

The baby has now been put into care.

Police said the father went to authorities and admitting posting the offer but claimed it was meant as a joke.

The family are described as refugees but police gave no further details.
