Police officer saves a baby from choking to death and parents ask him to be godfather
A police officer has saved a baby from choking to death with just seconds to spare.
The parents of Ma'Yavi Parham have now asked Kenneth Knox to be the two-month-old baby's godfather.
Mr Knox, from Warm Springs in Georgia, US, responded to the emergency call of a two-month-old girl choking on some cereal.
He arrived at the scene to find the little girl "turning blue and fading fast".
Her parents had tried to do CPR without success and when he arrived the baby was not breathing.
He laid her down and immediately performed what he calls "reverse" CPR and "was able to suck the cereal out of her throat".
She started breathing and then crying which was "music to their ears".
Mr Knox said: "Out of my 25 years being a cop this is my greatest and most profound accomplishment and it made every second of those 25 years worth it all. I am forever humbled and changed by this."
He was asked by the parents to be the girl's godfather.
He said: "Ma'Yavi Parham is now my God daughter which blesses me as a person and a man. I am the one who was blessed with her being brought into my life. She is a beautiful child and to know I will see her grow into a beautiful woman who can be what ever she wants."
