Angry seagull causes Tesco store to be evacuated

A seagull caused a Tesco store to be evacuated after it began attacking customers along the aisles.

Shoppers were kept out of the store in Truro, Cornwall, for over an hour after the bird made its way inside in search of food and caused people to flee.

After flying at customers, the seagull perched on a packet of IAMS next to a sign for pet insurance.

The bird was eventually captured and released back outside.

A Tesco worker, who did not want to be named, said: "The seagull flew into the shop at about 8.30pm, and I was unaware of its presence until it nearly flew into my head".

The worker was told by a colleague that the bird had flown at a woman's face as she walked into the store.

She added: "As far as I'm aware she was not injured just a little bit shocked and who wouldn't be, no-one expects to go into their local Tesco and be greeted by a peed off seagull".
