Air ambulance pilot buys pay and display ticket after landing in car park during emergency
An honest air ambulance pilot who touched down in a council-run car park during an emergency decided not to risk a ticket - so hopped out to buy a ticket for the chopper.
Captain Craig Webster landed in the pay-and-display car park in Victoria Square, Bodmin, Cornwall, during an emergency call.
While his colleagues left to attend to the patient, he left the cab and dutifully entered the helicopter's registration into the ticket machine, coughing up 60p for an hour's parking.
The pilot, who flew deliveries to lighthouses before joining Cornwall Air Ambulance, then waited for them to return before flying off.
The charity organisation tweeted the evidence of the transaction, which happened in July.
"Captain Craig is always honest when he parks G-CNWL - even when on a mission," they wrote.
No details of the emergency call have been released.
