Hillary Clinton described as 'the devil' by Donald Trump

Donald Trump has described Hillary Clinton as "the devil" as he attacked Bernie Sanders for endorsing his Democratic rival.

The billionaire businessman said Mr Sanders had "made a deal with the devil" when he decided to back Mrs Clinton at the Democratic National Convention.

Speaking in Pennsylvania, Mr Trump, who is the Republican presidential nominee, told his supporters: "If he would have just not done anything, just gone home, go to sleep, relax, he would have been a hero.

"But he made a deal with the devil. She's the devil."

In a speech to the convention last week, Vermont senator Mr Sanders said Mrs Clinton "must become the next president".

His words were designed to dispel tension between his supporters and those backing Mrs Clinton at the event in Philadelphia following a heated primary contest.

Following that speech, Mr Trump slammed Mr Sanders' performance, tweeting that he had "totally sold out".

Earlier, billionaire investor Warren Buffett campaigned alongside Mrs Clinton in Nebraska, where he challenged Mr Trump to release his tax returns and said he would personally drive people to the polls in November.

Mr Trump has said he cannot release his returns until the Internal Revenue Service has completed an audit.
