Rise in drownings off Britain's coasts blamed on risk takers
Thrill seekers and people who take selfies are being blamed for a rise in the number of drowning's off Britain's most treacherous coastlines.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution found 168 people died off the UK coast last year - the highest number of deaths in five years.
A further 385 lives were saved in accidents that could have been fatal.
More than half of those who died had been taking part in activities such as walking, running, climbing or fishing.
The RNLI has also warned that the desire to take the perfect photo could prove deadly and might have led to dozens of lives being lost.
