Wife's heartbreaking tribute to husband who died in paragliding accident

A wife has paid a heartbreaking tribute to her husband who died in a paragliding accident.

Austin Desi, 35, plunged to his death after falling off his glider at the privately owned Archer Falls airstrip near Brisbane in Australia. He suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene.

Janette Desi, who is nine months pregnant with her second child, wrote in a moving Facebook post:

Friends and neighbours have set up an online fundraising campaign to help cover Mr Desi's funeral expenses, and support Mrs Desi and her three-year-old daughter Evelyn.

The page exceeded its $5,000 (£2,530) target in less than 12 hours after it was published on Monday.

Neighbour Samantha Jockel told the Brisbane Times that Mr Desi was "a fun loving, gregarious, really happy outdoorsy kind of guy, who loved having fun outdoors with family and friends".

A memorial service has been scheduled for May 27.
