Polish train driver runs down carriage to warn passengers they are about to crash

A train driver has been hailed as a hero after he risked his life to warn his passengers of an impending crash with a lorry.

Dramatic footage shows the driver sprinting down the carriage to warn people to brace themselves for impact.

Seconds later, the train, which was travelling through a rural area of Poland at around 60 mph, smashed into the lorry, which had broken down on the tracks.

The camera lens shatters upon impact.

The passengers are believed to have avoided injury thanks to the actions of the driver.
