'At least 60 people' killed by car bomb in Baghdad

The number of people killed in a car bomb in Baghdad's Sadr City has risen to 63, according to police and hospital sources, Reuters reports.

At least 85 others were wounded in the blast and many remained in critical condition.

The attack targeted a crowded market during rush hour in a predominately Shi'ite Muslim area of eastern Baghdad.

The so-called Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack.
