Prince Harry worked up a sweat helping rebuild school devastated by Nepal earthquake

Prince Harry worked up a sweat helping to rebuild a school that was devastated by the Nepal earthquake during his tour to the country.

The prince joined volunteers and locals in Lupabesi, a remote village close to the epicentre of the April 2015 earthquake.

The village was completely devastated, 16 people died and over 150 were injured in the quake.

Rebuilding the village has been a challenge as Lapubesi is a seven-hour off-road drive from Kathmandu, followed by a further 2.5-hour trek on foot along the ridgeline of the hills.

Team Rubicon volunteers - a charity which uses the skills and experiences of military veterans in the aftermath of natural disasters - worked with the villagers of Lapubesi in the Gorkha region to help with the effort to rebuild the school.

David Wiseman, a Team Rubicon UK volunteer said: “It was a strange feeling to return to Nepal after being there last year in the immediate aftermath of the quake - we passed through towns and villages that I had seen devastated, literally levelled."
