Man shot while live-streaming on Facebook

A video released on social media appears to show a man being gunned down as he live-streams to Facebook.

The man, named in local media as 31-year-old Brian Fields, is reportedly in Chicago's Englewood neighbourhood talking to the camera when a car stops and multiple shots are fired.

As Mr Fields drops the phone, images of the shooter are seen as he continues to fire multiple shots.

Mr Fields suffered gunshot wounds to the face and groin and was taken in a critical condition to hospital where he remained on Friday, ABC Chicago reports.

After the shots, a woman can be heard screaming.

The incident, being investigated by police, is one of nine shootings across the city on Thursday night that left at least two people dead, the Chicago Tribune reports.
