'It's time to free the bladder': School pupils launch petition after being 'banned' from using toilet
Students at a school in Scotland have attacked a new policy that clamps down on pupils' toilet use.
More than 2,600 people have signed a petition set up by Perth Grammar School students on Monday that says locking toilets during lesson times is a breach of their human rights.
Entitled 'Free the Bladder,' it calls on new head Fiona Robertson to apologise for the initiative, which it brands "idiocy."
One parent who supported the petition told the Daily Record: "I am disgusted by such outdated ideals and behaviour."
Perth and Kinross Council confirmed that the toilets are locked during lesson time, but said that pupils can get a key from the school office in an "emergency".
In a newsletter sent to parents, Miss Robertson described social media posts about the new rule "inappropriate and completely unnecessary."
