American tourist killed in Israel in wave of Palestinian attacks
An American tourist was stabbed to death when Palestinian attackers unleashed a wave of deadly attacks in Tel Aviv, an Israeli police spokesman said.
Nine other people were wounded in the assault - just one in multiple stabbing and shooting attacks on Tuesday.
ITV News Middle East Correspondent Geraint Vincent reports:
It took place along a boardwalk near a beach in the Jaffa area popular with tourists.
Four Palestinian attackers were shot and killed in the violence, the latest in a five-month wave of near daily Palestinian attacks.
At least 176 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire during that time.
Palestinian attacks have killed 28 Israelis.
The violence came as Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Israel on a two-day visit as part of a regional tour of the Mideast.
Biden is to meet both Israeli and Palestinian leaders and there have been speculation he would try to revive Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.
Palestinians say the violence stems from frustration at nearly five decades of Israeli rule over the West Bank and east Jerusalem.
Israel says the violence is fueled by a campaign of Palestinian lies and incitement that is compounded on social media sites that glorify and encourage attacks.
