A former girlfriend of the Prince William will audition on BBC One's The Voice this Saturday.

Rose Farquhar, 31, became involved with the Duke of Cambridge when he left Eton in 2000.

The daughter of Captain Ian Farquhar, master of the Beaufort Hunt, she has known the future king since they were children.

She sang before The Voice's all-star panel of US artist will.i.am, Boy George, Ricky Wilson and Paloma Faith.

The pop star wannabe performed Anyone Who Had A Heart, the song popularised by Cilla Black.

"It was completely my kind of thing," Kaiser Chiefs frontman Wilson said after her audition.

"Not many people in the world get to sing feet from Will, Paloma Faith, Boy George and Ricky. It is insane," Farquhar said on the show.

The Voice is not her first experience of TV talent vehicles as Farquhar also appeared on BBC One's 2006 series How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?

Viewers will have to wait until the broadcast of the episode to find out if Farquhar made it through to the next stage of the competition.
