Louis van Gaal hits back at Man United quit rumours
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says he never offered to quit his job as manager at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman reportedly offered to resign after his side's latest loss to Southampton at home last weekend.
Van Gaal admitted to disappointment after the 1-0 defeat but says he will be backing looking for a win against Derby on Friday.
"When you lose a game, especially in the last minute, you are fed up. But it is your duty as a manager and a player to stand up again and to do what you have to do, because that is a professional attitude."
The former Barcelona head coach has thanked the club's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward for his support.
