Car belonging to Nigel Farage 'sabotaged in assassination attempt'
UKIP leader Nigel Farage fears he was the victim of an assassination attempt after his car was sabotaged, causing the vehicle to crash as he was driving home from Brussels.
The car careered off a French road after a wheel on his Volvo came off. After examining the vehicle at the scene police told him it was unlikely all four nuts could have accidentally come loose.
Farage, who has received death threats in the past, told the Mail on Sunday he "didn't have a clue" who might have been responsible: "Quite frankly, the way my life's been over the past two-and-a-half years, nothing surprises me".
The crash took place at the end of October in Dunkirk, but authorities say there is no active investigation into the incident.
