Video: Family drives through 'terrifying' California wildfires
A family visiting California from the Netherlands inadvertently drove through the Solimar wildfires, and captured the whole terrifying experience on video.
Maaike Maks, who was visiting the area with her family for the holidays, was driving though Ventura from Los Angeles on Christmas night.
Around 600 firefighters are battling the bush fire in the Solimar Beach area of Ventura County.
It was sparked when a power cable line fell in heavy winds.
The family say they were shocked that they were able to drive through and felt lucky nobody was harmed.
Only 10 per cent of the fires were contained on Saturday afternoon, and officials say it will take at least three days to control.
