British stunt double to have arm amputated after horrific accident on set of latest film
A British stunt double is to have her arm amputated after a horrific accident on-set.
Olivia Jackson, 34, from Buckinghamshire, suffered severe injuries in a motorbike crash as she filmed the new Resident Evil film in South Africa in September.
Jackson - who worked on Star Wars: The Force Awakens - spent weeks in a coma and has now revealed that her left arm will have to be amputated.
"My left arm is paralysed and is going to have to be amputated," she told The Sun.
"My facial scarring is horrible and I wish I had my old face.
"But I'm truly grateful to be alive."
Her husband, David Grant, who is also a stunt double, said his wife was an "inspiration" and was "fighting hard".
"I want you all to know that she has been making steady progress and your thoughts and good vibes are all working so please keep them up!" he wrote on Facebook after rushing to her bedside.
"I whisper to her everyday telling her about the support she's getting worldwide!"
