Weather: Is the mild air here to stay?

It stays unusually mild for the time of year today - even with the cloudy, breezy wet conditions in places.

The cloud will break later leaving the chance of clearer skies with low, weak winter sunshine before dusk.

Temperatures will be up to 15-16C in places, way above the average for mid December.
