Lauren Murray has become the latest X Factor contestant to be booted out of this year's competition.

The 25-year-old singer failed to secure her position in the X Factor's final three after losing out to Che Chesterman in a tense sing-off after a lack of public votes landed her in the bottom two.

Due to the judges split decision over which of the two singers should be put through to the final Lauren took to the stage to sing Fight Song while Che opted to perform Bridge Over Troubled Water.

Holding back the tears as she said an emotional goodbye Lauren said: "I just want to thank everyone that voted me, that believed in me the whole way through the competition."

Lauren's exit means that now just Reggie N Bollie, Louisa Johnson and Che Chesterman are left in the running to win the X Factor title when they compete in next weekend's live final at Wembley.
