David Moyes is eyeing another opportunity in Europe after his dismissal from Real Sociedad in November.

The former Man United and Everton boss paid the ultimate price following a slow start to the season in La Liga, having guided Sociedad to 7th in 2014/15.

Moyes was sacked almost exactly 12 months after taking over, with the club languishing dangerously close to the relegation places in Spain's top flight.

When asked about his next career move by the BBC this week, he said: "I'm open minded and Spain whetted my appetite. If the right opportunities came up in the major leagues I'd be interested.

"I think the experience will help me. I gained great knowledge from my time there. It was great to experience what I did and I hope that will make me better."

Moyes in one of few British managers in recent times to have worked at the top level outside of England, and he believes the quality in Spain is better.

"It's very difficult to compare the two leagues," he said. "The best teams are in Spain and many of the best players are in Spain."
