Eagles of Death Metal: We want to be first to play the Bataclan when it reopens
The rock band who were on the stage in a French concert hall when jihadists opened fire into a crowd of revellers say they want to be the first act to reopen the venue.
The Eagles of Death Metal were playing the Bataclan in central Paris when three gunmen stormed the venue and massacred at 89 people and gravely wounded dozens more in the senseless attack.
Speaking for the first time since the atrocities in Paris almost two weeks ago, singer Jesse Hughes told Vice that he "cannot wait to get back to Paris and play."
During a clearly harrowing interview, the band described the horror of being in the music venue on the night of the attacks.
Hughes said: "I want to be the first person to play in the Bataclan when it opens up."
All band members escaped unhurt but the group's merchandise manager, Nick Alexander, died during the incident.
Julian Dorio, the band's drummer, has posted an image on Instagram of him lighting a candle at Notre Dame cathedral, with a promise to play a gig at the venue.
In all, 89 of the 130 victims of the Paris attacks were at the band's concert on 13 November, where Islamists struck, firing indiscriminately at the crowd. A further 100 were injured.
