Mother's dead son superimposed on wedding photo after he loses battle with leukemia
A mother whose son died months before her wedding has made him part of her special day by having a ghost-like image of him superimposed on one of the photographs.
Anna Thompson's son Lake lost his battle with leukemia six months ago, shortly before his ninth birthday.
On her wedding day, Mrs Thompson described the "unbearable" feeling of having family photos taken without her son.
So Brandy Angel and fellow photographer Paul Woodward applied some special effects to the image to include Lake with the rest of the family.
Since the image was posted online it has generated a huge response, something Mrs Thompson said she was "completely overwhelmed" by.
In a post alongside the photograph on Facebook, she said: "Although I felt his presence that day and I was actually happy, it was almost unbearable to take family pictures without him.
"I could feel my emotions taking over after the ceremony when it was time to take pictures. I became anxious and almost irritated but I knew these pictures had to be taken.
"They turned out beautiful and thanks to my amazing photographer she was able to get some special edits done.
"I needed this picture more than she or anyone could ever know. This is my family. And we will be together again."
Ms Angel said she was thankful to everyone who had helped spread the story and "inspire countless people on so many levels".
