Indian woman treated as a domestic slave in Britain
An Indian woman who was treated as a domestic slave in Britain has spoken to ITV News about the horrific conditions she had to endure.
Permila Tirkey was forced to work 18 hour days, seven days a week, for 11p an hour.
A British family searched the poorest regions of India to find a woman of a low caste they could bring back to their home in Milton Keynes.
After nearly five years she managed to escape and won a landmark ruling in an employment tribunal against former employers Ajay and Pooja Chandhok.
She was awarded £183,000 in compensation.
