England vs Fiji: TMO frustrates fans in Rugby World Cup opener
Many people seem to agree that Rugby World Cup viewers have already seen too much of the TMO (Television Match Official).
Rugby union is often lauded for its use of technology and some think football should follow its example.
But during this clash, casual fans and sports writers alike were united in the refrain, "Who is this TMO and why does he dislike free-flowing rugby so?"

But whilst his calls were correct and sanctions balanced, his interventions hindered the flow of the match, draining momentum; letting the match-day atmosphere evaporate into the cool Twickenham night.
Harlequins fly-half Nick Evans echoed the thoughts of many during the game:
Fiji coach John McKee told reporters:
But Twitter was less kind to Mr Veldsman, but most of the 'banter' was relatively good natured:
Even the match photographers seemed to be frustrated by some of the decisions to go "upstairs".
Nevertheless, England have made a successful start to their Rugby World Cup campaign, beating Fiji, 35-11.
