Shoplifting seagull captured nicking packet of peanuts from store on CCTV

Watch the moment the shoplifting seagull steals his snack.

A seagull has been captured on CCTV shoplifting from a convenience store - much to the annoyance of the shop's owner.

The video shows the bird casually waddling in through the front door of the store in Aberdeen.

The bird can be seen to head towards a fruit stand, where after perusing the items on offer he takes a peck at a lemon.

Seemingly dissuaded by the sour fruit, he looks around at what else is on offer before grabbing a bag of peanuts from another nearby stand.

The bird can be seen trying to get into the bag before it quickly flees the scene of the crime after shouts from the shop's owner Iqbal Zaman.

In another clip, the bird can be seen calmly perusing the aisles before it's chased out by Zaman.

Mr Iqbal, 24, said: "We do get seagulls quite often trying to come into the store, but we try to scare them away and keep them out.

"This is the first time a seagull has shoplifted from us. When I chased the seagull out people asked what I was doing, but I had to do what I had to do."
