Professor Green has spoken of his difficult relationship with his estranged father and the final conversation they had before he committed suicide.

The interview comes as the rapper, real name Stephen Manderson, and his wife former Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh, celebrate their second wedding anniversary. Both posted pictures on their Instagram pages to mark the occasion.

Speaking on This Morning, Professor Green spoke about being raised by his grandmother on a council estate in London.

He seemed visibly upset as he described the difficult relationship he had with his father, who left his mother shortly after he was born and later committed suicide, and their final conversation.

Professor Green, whose new book Lucky is being released, said it learned him to take better care of himself and that seeing a therapist enabled him to talk things through and process everything he had been through.

Speaking about his marriage to former Made in Chelsea star Milie Mackintosh, he said: "She is an eternal optimist. I'm a slight pessimist, I err on the side of caution so we balance each other out quite well. She doesn't let me stay down in the dumps too long.

"I don't look to her to solve my problems. I think that would make for a bad relationship because then if anything was wrong and wasn't fixed it would be her fault. I don't rely on Millie to counsel me."
