Jean-Claude Juncker has told Europe that now is "a time for humanity and human dignity" to help resolve the refugee crisis engulfing the continent.

Speaking to MEPs, the EU Commissioner said that he wanted to see the compulsory relocation of 160,000 displaced people to ease the pressure on countries such as Italy, Hungary and Greece.

However, as he addressed the audience in Strasbourg, hundreds more refugees were landing on the shores of the Greek island of Lesbos, as ITV's Senior International Correspondent John Irvine reports.
