Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty are expecting their first child

Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty are have announced they are expecting their first child together.

The couple, who married in a secret ceremony in Rome, Italy in 2012, shared the news online.

TV presenter Cat Deeley, 38, said they were "so happy".

Comedian Patrick Kielty previously joked about the possibility of having children.

He said: "I hope any child we might have has Cat's looks and my accent. With our two strong accents, we basically needed subtitles or a UN translator."

The pair met when they presented Fame Academy together in 2002.

They remained close friends for almost a decade before going public as a couple in March 2012.

They married six months later.

Their wedding at St Isidore's College Church was closely guarded secret and a very intimate affair with only immediate family and six friends each.

Kielty explained afterwards that they 'didn't really care where we did it, we just wanted to be married,' during an interview with The Belfast Telegraph.
