West Ham owner rules out signing Charlie Austin over fears about his quality and fitness
West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has ruled out the possibility of signing QPR striker Charlie Austin after expressing fears about his quality and fitness.
Austin scored for consecutive matches on Wednesday night as QPR came from 2-0 down at Wolves to claim their first win of the season, and the striker had been strongly linked to West Ham.
He scored 18 Premier League goals for QPR last season, more than any other English player apart from Harry Kane, and has not missed more than a handful of games each season through injury in the last four years.
But Hammers co-owner Sullivan, who was speaking on the new KUMB West Ham podcast, is clearly not convinced.
