Hamas captures suspected 'Israeli spy dolphin' near Gaza
Hamas is claiming to have captured red-handed a dolphin spying for Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad.
The Palestinian organisation says the animal was captured off the coast of Gaza several weeks ago and was equipped with 'spying equipment', including cameras.
According to local press reports, Hamas said the dolphin was apprehended by its military wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassan Brigades whose soldiers became concerned when they spotted the dolphin making 'suspicious movements' near Gaza port.
Claims that Israel have animals for espionage are not unheard of. Three years ago Sudanese locals claimed to have captured an eagle with an Israeli tag while in 2010, Egypt claimed that Israeli-controlled sharks have have been involved in attacks on tourists.
No photographs of the latest alleged marine secret agent have been released nor is its fate known.
