Sigourney Weaver makes Doc Martin cameo appearance alongside Martin Clunes

Sigourney Weaver has been spotted making a cameo appearance in ITV's Doc Martin.

Footage shared online shows the Alien star - wearing a fisherman's hat and with a camera around her neck - entering a pharmacy alongside the show's star Martin Clunes.

Dozens of curious bystanders stood and watched as Weaver and Clunes filmed the scenes in Port Isaac, Cornwall, last week.

An ITV spokeswoman confirmed her appearance but refused to comment on her role.

Weaver, who is most famous for her role as Ripley in science fiction classic Alien, has also appeared in Ghostbusters and Gorillas In The Mist.
