Bride arrives at wedding in police car after vintage Rolls Royce breaks down
Arriving at your wedding in the back of a police car may not be every bride's dream - but these newlyweds have thanked officers for saving their big day.
Dianne Hunnibell had hired a vintage Rolls Royce to take her to the church but the classic car broke down on the way.
Luckily traffic officer PC Ian Jepp was called to the scene on the A14 and rescued the bridal party, driving them the remaining 15 miles to the venue.
Dianne got to Stowmarket Registry Office in Suffolk on time much to the delight of her now husband Sean.
Mrs Hunnibell said: "It's not something you expect to happen on your wedding day but I cannot thank PC Jepp enough.
"Without him I wouldn't have got married on that day and with guests having travelled all the way from America it would have proved nearly impossible to reorganise."
The newlywed added her father Peter, who was in the Rolls Royce with her, enjoyed the drama, "He was like a little boy on Christmas day when the officer turned on the blue flashing sirens," she added.
PC Jepp said the good deed was a welcome change to dealing with collisions and drink drivers.
"I was happy to be of assistance. It was really nice to deal with something positive for change."
