Adel Taarabt hits out at QPR players for chasing money and 'very bad' manager Harry Redknapp
Adel Taarabt has described Harry Redknapp as "a very bad" manager and accused some of his former team-mates of being mercenaries who didn't care about QPR.
The controversial Moroccan joined Benfica on a five-year contract earlier this month after featuring just seven times in the Premier League last season.
It's not the first time Taarabt has criticised 68 year-old Redknapp in public after launching a stinging attack on his coaching methods in October 2014.
Those accusations were levelled in direct response to claims from Redknapp that Taarabt was "three stone overweight", as reporters and fans speculated about his absence.
Speaking in today's Sun on Sunday, the mercurial midfielder said:
"Half the players at QPR didn’t care about the club, they were just making money. I had one of the bigger salaries but I cared about football because I loved football.”
The 26 year-old sensationally claimed that he and Redknapp only agreed about something when he suggested that QPR were already doomed before last season's Premier League campaign had started.
“When I came for pre-season I told Harry Redknapp to his face, ‘This team is going down’. He said the same thing as me... that he agreed with me."
Speaking specifically about Redknapp as a manager and coach, Taarabt added: "I don’t think he has the passion for the game like people think.
“Harry is not a bad person but he is a very bad coach and, for me, a very bad manager.”
