A Yorkshire charity shop is hoping to track down a "true gent" who left them a wedding dress along with a heartfelt note intended for its new owner.

The note on the dress read: "I wish any lady who takes this dress to have a life with her loved one 56 years like I did. Happy years. I was a lucky man to marry a lady like mine."

St Gemma's Hospice in Garforth now hopes to track down the elderly man - who dropped the dress off last week - to say thank you, even if he wishes to remain anonymous.

The hospice says it has had a huge amount of interest from around the world since advertising the vintage dress on eBay.

It has already received bids of more than £200 at the time of writing, with nine days remaining.

Anyone with any information about the dress' previous owner can contact St Gemma's via their Facebook page or by calling 0113 218 5500.
