A Juventus fan has completed a 1,000km walk to see his team compete in the Champions League final.

Nicolò De Marchi won tickets for Saturday's showpiece event in Berlin after pledging to "go on foot" in response to a club competition asking fans before Juve's semi-final what they would do "if we get to the final".

Juve's defeat of Real Madrid secured the team's place against Barcelona and 22-year-old economics graduate Nicolò a place in the stands if he could fulfill his promise.

The 683 mile trek began on May 28 and led him from Turin in Italy to Germany via Austria and Switzerland.

He documented the epic journey with images on Twitter and Instagram, while being inundated with well-wishes from good sports.

The club allowed Nicolò to use a bike for parts of trip and a brief 12-mile drive because of worsening weather.

But no one doubted the fatigue of the super fan as he arrived at his German destination a day later than scheduled to be greeted by the Champions League cameras at the Olympic Stadium.
