EastEnders fans finally catch a glimpse of Fat Elvis

EastEnders fans have finally been introduced to the character Fat Elvis, years after he was first mentioned.

Viewers of the BBC soap have never previously seen Fat Elvis onscreen, despite Big Mo, played by Laila Morse, forever mentioning him as her long-term business associate and source of knock-off merchandise.

But tonight, Fat Elvis arrived in the Queen Vic for Kat and Alfie's farewell party and it was revealed he was engaged to Big Mo.

Fans have officially gone into meltdown.

The cult character is played by Shenton Dixon, who viewers may recognise as a former performer on The Voice.

But fans should not get used to the sight of Fat Elvis in Walford.

A show insider is quoted by the Radio Times as saying: "Everyone on the show was really excited to finally put a face to the name of Fat Elvis. It's a one-off appearance for now, but who knows what could happen in the future."
