Lil' Chris death: Singer hanged himself, inquest hears
Singer Lil' Chris was found hanging at his home by a friend, an inquest has heard.
The reality TV star, real name Chris Hardman, was found dead at his home in Lowestoft, Suffolk on March 23.
Hardman's family said he had struggled with depression.
"He had been found hanging at his home by a friend," Suffolk coroner Peter Dean said.
"Emergency services were called but attempts at resuscitation failed."
Dr Dean added: "I would like to offer my thoughts and condolences to the family, friends and all those close to him for their loss."
Hardman shot to fame in Channel 4's Rock School and went on to have a top five hit with Checkin' It Out in 2006.
After his death, Hardman's family said he was "a huge personality who will be missed by everyone who knew him".
Gene Simmons, who discovered Hardman on Rock School, Caroline Flack and McBusted drummer Harry Judd were among those to pay tribute.
The inquest was adjourned until July 28.
