New Star Wars trailer released - and Han Solo is back

Smuggler-turned-hero of the Rebel Alliance Han Solo makes his first cinematic appearance since 1983 in the latest trailer for the forthcoming new Star Wars film 'The Force Awakens'.

Veteran actor Harrison Ford is seen alongside his furry pal Chewbacca right at the end of the new teaser, which was released during a panel at the Star Wars Celebration, in Anaheim, California today.

The scene, which can be watched below, also introduces a new generation of heroes, including British actors John Boyega as Finn and Daisy Ridley as Rey, as well as American Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron.

Other scenes reveal battles between Han Solo's iconic craft the Millennium Falcon, X-Wings and Imperial Tie Fighters. We also get a clearer glimpse at the film's as-yet unnamed villain.
