Michael Carrick believes Harry Kane is getting better and better, as his England debut approaches.

The Manchester United midfielder could line up alongside the Spurs striker on Friday night when England take on Lithuania at Wembley.

"The progress Harry Kane has made has been sensational, he's gone up two or three levels. His performances keep improving. He's the real deal."

Carrick, 33, was also very complimentary of Kane's Spurs team-mate Ryan Mason, who is also in the national team squad for the first time.

Spurs player Mason, who was called up to replace Adam Lallana, is expected to start on the bench at Wembley.

"It was his 1st day. It can be daunting but he's settled in fine, done really well. He's got a few of his Spurs mates here," Carrick explained.
