'Smelly poo' forces flight to return to Heathrow Airport

A Dubai-bound flight was forced to return to Heathrow Airport half an hour after take-off because of a "smelly poo".

The British Airways flight had left on time but was forced to turn back about 30 minutes after taking off from the London airport.

Cabin crew had tried to rectify the problem but were unable to so the flight was forced to return "for the safety and comfort" of those on board.

Conservative councillor Abhshek Sachdev, who was on board, tweeted in disbelief that the seven-hour flight had been turned around due to the incident.

He and other passengers had to wait 15 hours for the next flight.

British Airways apologised in a statement and said they had provided passengers with hotel accommodation.
