Squirrel causes havoc after stuffing car engine full of nuts

An elderly woman was left baffled when her car would not go over 40mph - and then found her engine was full of nuts.

The driver, from Poole Keynes in the Cotswolds, had been having problems with her Honda Civic so took it into a garage.

And the mechanics were left gobsmacked when they lifted up the bonnet.

It is thought a squirrel could be the culprit.

Garage owner David Evans said: "It was rammed solid with nuts.

"I've been doing this job for 18 years and I've never seen anything like it.

"An animal must have been getting into the garage, where she parked her car, and had been climbing right inside the engine bay and squeezing itself into the air filter."
