Ex-girlfriend of Brusthom Ziamani on how he revealed his plans to 'recreate the murder of Lee Rigby'
The former girlfriend of Brusthom Ziamani has described how he converted to Islam before telling her of his plans for a terrorist attack in an exclusive television interview with ITV News.
ITV News Correspondent Juliet Bremner reports:
The teenager described how she and Ziamani met and described him as "a normal guy, kind, funny, caring."
However that changed after Ziamani converted to Islam while she was on holiday and began to pressure her to convert.
As Ziamani became more extreme their relationship ended, and the girl was told he would 'wipe her out'.
Some time later Ziamani came to see his former girlfriend and told her he was planning a terror attack.
Brusthom Ziamani, 19, has been found guilty at the Old Bailey of plotting to behead a British soldier after being inspired by the murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby.
Speaking after Ziamani's conviction the teenager said she believed the attack would have gone ahead had he not been stopped and issued a warning for others: "Try your best not to get involved with the wrong people as it can happen so easily. I never thought it would happen to me in a million years and it did so it can happen to anyone...And if you do see anything, then you need to tell the right people otherwise serious stuff happens."
