Nuclear bunker for sale for £75k
A nuclear bunker is set to go under the hammer in Nottinghamshire next month.
The 14ft deep Cold War-era bunker, built in Burton Joyce in 1961, has a guide price of £75,000.
It was one of more than 1,500 monitoring posts built by the Royal Observer Corps across the UK as a result of the Corps' nuclear reporting role and operated by volunteers during the conflict.
The 11.17sqm bunker, which is accessed by a steep vertical ladder, remains intact complete with speech receiver, blankets, siren box, toilet and comes with 6.5 acres of land.
It will be sold at public auction at Colwick Racecourse in Nottingham on March 26.
