Steven Gerrard 'to leave Liverpool at end of season'

Steven Gerrard is reportedly expected to announce his decision to leave Liverpool this summer.

The 34-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season and he will finally leave Anfield after a 25-year association with his boyhood club.

He will formally announce his decision tomorrow amid mounting speculation over his future.

Numerous media reports suggest Gerrard will consider offers from MLS clubs Los Angeles Galaxy and New York Red Bulls.

He has made 695 appearances for Liverpool since joining as an eight-year-old, scoring 180 goals.

Gerrard memorably lifted the Champions League in 2005 after inspiring Liverpool to come from 3-0 down against AC Milan.

During his time with the Reds, he has also won three League Cups, two FA Cups and the UEFA Cup.

He was close to winning the Premier League title for the first time last season before Liverpool lost out to Manchester City.
